"Emerging Leaders" Internship Application

Ongoing | Urban Community Connections is now accepting applications for our Emerging Leaders Internship Program, a hands on workforce development and leadership opportunity designed for motivated youth and young adults ready to grow, serve, and lead in their community.

WHO SHOULD APPLY?

Youth & Young Adults (Ages 17–28)

POSITION DETAILS:

Location: UCC Warehouse, 709 N. 6th Street, Kansas City, KS 66101

Schedule: 2–3 days per week
Up to 5 hours per day

Compensation: Stipend-Based Opportunity
The Emerging Leaders Internship Program requires a commitment of 10–15 hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours as they become available. 

If selected for the program, work schedules will be provided on a biweekly basis (every two weeks).


Key Responsibilities:



  • Sort and organize donated items such as clothing, hygiene products, and household supplies.

  • Assemble resource kits (example: hygiene kits, baby kits, food boxes) for community distribution

  • Load and unload trucks of donated and rescued resources

  • Assist with the distribution of resources during community events and pantry days

  • Help load vehicles for partner organizations and distribution sites

  • Keep warehouse spaces clean, organized, and safe

  • Assist with inventory tracking and restocking supplies

  • Prepare materials and kits for upcoming events and distributions

  • Support packing parties and volunteer groups during warehouse activities

  • Follow safety guidelines and proper lifting techniques       (must be able to lift up to 50 lbs)

  • Work as part of a team to complete daily goals and tasks

  • Comfortable working in a warehouse setting

Urban Community Connections operates Monday through Friday, with one Saturday per month. Please indicate any days or times you are unavailable.
